NegOcc ends distribution of ‘Odette’ aid

Six months after Typhoon “Odette” devastated southern Negros Occidental, the provincial government has completed its distribution of financial assistance in Cauayan town.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the distribution of housing aid worth P19 million from the National Housing Authority and the National Treasury to 3,974 beneficiaries.

Those with partially damaged homes received aid much earlier from their respective local government units. (

Among assistance extended by the provincial government were roofing materials.

In December 2021, “Odette” killed a total of 49 people and left P2.3-billion damage to infrastructure and agriculture in Negros Occidental.
