NegOcc capitol proposes P5.5-B budget

The Negros Occidental Provincial Government has proposed a budget of P5.5 billion for 2024, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said.

The 2024 budget indicates an increase of P400 million, compared to the P5.1 billion this year.

Lacson reported that the national government increased the National Tax Allocation (NTA) of Negros Occidental from P4.6 billion to P4.9 billion this year. (https://tinyurl.com/yun5h4cp)

Local income, such as local taxes and nontax revenues, also increased by P10 million, from P329 million to P339 million, he added.

The governor attributed the increase in the proposed budget to increased tax collection.

“It will normalize in 2025,” he said.

The Capitol is expected to submit its budget proposal to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan before the October 16 deadline.
