Nauna pa sa PLDT: DOLE WV puts 8K workers under regular status
Some 8,003 workers in Western Visayas have been regularized, more than half the number targeted for regularization this year by the Department of Labor and Employment in the region.
DOLE-6 regional director Johnson Cañete said the 8,003 amounts to 53 percent of 15,000 workers targeted for regularization.
Cañete added they are on track with their program on ending labor-only contracting, adding they have surpassed their target of 7,500 workers by June (https://thedailyguardian.net/local-news/8003-workers-in-wv-regularized/).
The DOLE-6 said the 8,003 amounts to 53 percent of the 15,000 workers who must be regularized in 2018.
Of the 8,003, 3,232 are from Negros; 2,333 from Iloilo; 1,671 from Antique; 385 from Capiz; and 382 from Aklan.
Meanwhile, Cañete reiterated their appeal to companies to voluntarily regularize their workers.
“They should submit to DOLE reports of their workers who were regularized so that they will be counted in 2018,” he said.
