Nauna kay Duterte! Labella rejected initial plan to allow kids aged 10 and up to go out
Kids in Cebu City did not even get to try to set foot outside their homes on that short window when the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) allowed them to.
Mayor Edgar Labella did not heed the policy of the IATF to let children aged 10-14 roam free again, which was quickly reversed by President Rodrigo Duterte.
“I have not allowed children under 15 years old to go out in Cebu City, even if the Inter-Agency Task Force announced the easing of this restriction in modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) areas, because it is too risky,” the politiko explained.
“We may be under MGCQ, but our COVID-19 situation is under control. As I have said over and over again, kon kinahanglan gani ta mag-lockdown, it should just be granular,” he added.
Labell went on to detail how the local vaccination plan is being readied, with a P400 million budget set aside for purchases.
