‘Narco-general’ Vicente Loot returns to work
Daanbantayan, Cebu Mayor Vicente Loot is back to work after nearly two months of vacation leave.
Loot, who was implicated by President Rodrigo Duterte in the drug trade, returned to work after extending his vacation leave last December 5, 2018.
“Mayor Vicente A. Loot is warmly welcomed by municipal department heads, barangay officials, and Sangguniang Kabataan officials,” a post in the official Facebook page of the Municipality of Daanbantayan read.
“Now that Mayor Loot is back in office, We are One as we continue to aim higher for a more progressive Daanbantayan and empowered people. Welcome back, Mayor!” it added.
In May last year, Loot and his family survived an ambush at the town’s wharf, which left his drivers and househelp wounded.
Duterte first tagged Loot, along with four other police generals, as drug protector in July 2016.
