Moises Padilla Mayor-elect Padilla to tear down CH fence
Moises Padilla Mayor-elect Ella Garcia-Yulo of Negros Occidental province will take down the GI sheets that surround the municipal hall when she assumes office on June 30.
“This will symbolize transparency and freedom from a tyrant,” Garcia-Yulo said in The Daily Guardian article.
Defeated Mayor Magdaleno Peña reportedly put up the fence to protect the building from rebel attacks.
The new mayor, however, said it hampered people from moving in and out of the town-hall grounds. “We will take down the GI sheets to allow the people to freely go inside and out of the municipal hall because the municipal hall is the people’s house,” she added.
Garcia-Yulo said she also plans to remove majority of the town hall’s employees because they were not residents of Moises Padilla.
