POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.

After branding them lazy and cowards, President Rodrigo Duterte mocked anew Cebuanos and other people from the Visayas region and called them “gago” or fools.

Duterte, whose father belongs to a powerful Cebu clan, cited Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmena as the poster boy of a foolish Cebuano or Bisaya.

“Isa pa ‘yang putang ina. Kunan mo ‘yung pulis ng patrol car, kunan mo ang pulis ng baril. Anong klase? This guy must be crazy. Pupunta doon sa presuhan tapos ipa-release ‘yung mga nahuli. Those arrested by the police, he demanded the release,” said Duterte in a briefing.

Duterte was referring to Osmena’s decision to take custody of three men arrested by the Cebtu City police for selling butane canisters without a permit. The Cebu City Police Office are planning to file charges for obstruction of justice, grave abuse of authority, and graft against Osmeña and Duterte was fully supportive of the plan.

“File-an mo ng kaso. May mga ano talaga. Eh, mga Bisaya may ganun rin. ‘Yung hindi mo maintindihan ‘yung utak. Mga gago,” said Duterte.

Ilocos Norte with Governor Imee Marcos, who sat beside Duterte, reminded Duterte that she was half-Bisaya as her mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, hailed from Leyte.

“Half man lang. Eh talagang ano. Kaya napundi ako eh. ‘Yung — ano ba tawag niyan sa inyo? Gidaog-daog? Anong tawag sa inyo ng daog-daog? Giapi-api ba?” said Duterte.
