Mayor Radaza pushes for regulation of seafood prices
Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza wants to regulate the prices of seafood sold at the “sutukil” restaurants in Mactan island.
This after Radaza received reports that some Larsian vendors are overpricing their food products.
According to the politiko, the ongoing price monitoring of the seafood restaurants and the city’s public market should be armed with an ordinance to strictly follow the price policy.
“We noticed the overpricing especially when Vice Governor (Agnes) Magpale sent us a letter. She brought her guests to the place. All of a sudden, the receipt showed more than what they ordered,” Radaza said in a Cebu Daily News article.
Sutukil, short for Sugba, tuwa, kilaw, is a popular way of eating or preparing fresh seafood in Cebu.
Radaza meanwhile said they have already warned vendors not to overprice their products, otherwise they would be penalized.
