To prevent the spread of Covid-19, the local government of Anini-y, Antique has imposed restrictions on the movements of tourists and guests.

Mayor Maxfil Pollicar signed Executive Order No. (EO) 17, Series of 2021, limiting tourists’ movement to only within their “declared itineraries and booking during their stay in the municipality.”

In issuing his latest EO, Pollicar cited the rising Covid-19 infections in the province, which is currently under a modified general community quarantine. (https://bit.ly/3b6kgeG)

Despite the pandemic, Anini-y has not shut down its tourism sites to domestic visitors.

Last month, Pollicar reiterated a previous order setting at 50 percent maximum the capacity of establishments, offices and institutions to accommodate people to ensure physical distancing. This policy also covers public transport such as jeepneys and tricycles.

As of May 5, the town only had two active Covid-19 cases.
