Mayor orders strict border control IN Consolacion due to ASF

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
The Consolacion local government has tightened security measures to prevent the spread of African swine fever (ASF) in the town.
On Wednesday, Mayor Teresa Alegado called a meeting with the municipality’s 21 barangay leaders to discuss the potential damage caused by ASF infection in pigs.
Alegado directed the barangay captains to implement border controls to ensure that pigs transported in trucks passing through their area have documents proving they are virus-free. (https://bit.ly/3Fwq54t)
They were also instructed to urge their residents to inform the barangay if their pigs died.
The Department of Agriculture in Central Visayas recently announced that ASF was also detected in other parts of Cebu but did not specify which area.
