Mayor Leonardia to Bato: We will chase drug pushers out of barangays
Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia vowed to the Philippine National Police (PNP) that the city government will enhance its anti-illegal drug campaign in the barangays.
The Negros Occidental politiko recently submitted an accomplishment report to PNP Chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa.
Leonardia, in the accomplishment report, said the Bacolod city government “will endeavor to declare as drug-free as many of our barangays as soon as possible.”
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Western Visayas last February ssaid there are still 61 drug-affected barangays in Bacolod.
“We will chase drug pushers out of the barangays, rehabilitate drugs users, provide them knowledge and skills and livelihood so they can be productive members of the society again,” Leonardia said.
“We will continuously educate our young about the menace of drugs, and our parents about responsible parenthood,” he added.
