Cadiz City, Negros Occidental Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. has suspended all scheduled activities in connection with the 48th Dinagsa Festival, until further notice.

The postponement was due to the recent surge of Covid-19 cases in Cadiz City, the public advisory said.

As of January 20, the city had 109 active infections, of which 88 are local cases, 12 frontliners, six locally stranded individuals, and one each for returning overseas Filipino, authorized persons outside of residence, and transient. (

Last Wednesday, the operation of Cadiz City Health Office and vaccination scheduled at Cadiz City Arena was canceled after some of its frontliners developed COVID symptoms.

Dinagsa festival is held on the last weekend of January.
