Mayor Cortes supports reso allowing leisure travel from NCR Plus to MGCQ areas
Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes welcomed the latest resolution issued by the Inter Agency Task Force for the Management and Emerging Infectious Diseases, allowing leisure travel from the NCR Plus to areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
Cortes said this would help boost the tourism industry in Cebu province.
Hotel occupancy rates dropped due to restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, he lamented. (https://bit.ly/3uJbsm4)
NCR Plus – Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite – is under GCQ until June 15, 2021 while Mandaue City and the entire Cebu Island is under MGCQ.
According to the city mayor, the protocols when coming into the city would remain and that the RT-PCR test would no longer be needed.
Those travelling for leisure purposes would only need to bring a government-issued ID or proof of identification, confirmed hotel booking, and travel itinerary.
