Mayor Corpuz to Marina: Probe shortage of boats plying Iloilo City – Jordan route

Jordan Mayor Ruben Corpuz urged the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) to probe the apparent shortage of motorboat trips servicing the municipality and Iloilo City.

The Guimaras politiko said passengers currently have to wait between two to three hours before they can ride a motorboat between 5PM to 9PM.

Corpuz cited the tourists stranded in Iloilo City because of the shortage of boats going to Jordan for the Manggahan Festival.

The boats plying the Iloilo City-Jordan route is managed by the Jordan Motorbanca Cooperative.

“Ang request ko sa Marina is ma-conduct sila investigation and istoryahan kon ano ang mahimo,” Corpuz said.

“If there is a need nga magdugang sila sang franchise or another group nga magbiyahe para mag-efficient ang operation, OK lang ako sina,” he added.
