Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan will allow minors inside the city’s malls and other establishments despite the plans of other local government units to ban children below 15 years old from entering shopping centers.

A 2-year-old boy in Metro Manila recently tested positive for Covid-19 after a mall visit.

Chan said the city government will allow minors to enter malls, provided they will keep wearing their face mask. (

“They are allowed to enter any establishment as long as they can wear a face mask,” according to him.

Minors, he added, should always be accompanied by their fully vaccinated parents when entering malls and establishments.
