He’s proving President Rodrigo Duterte that he made the right choice.

Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez is flexing just how fit he is to be Majority Leader. Among the first bills he is ushering to the plenary are two tax measures long sought by the Department of Finance, which include the higher sin tax on alcoholic drinks, and corporate income tax reform.

On the first few weeks of the 18th Congress, both bills are now in the plenary. The alcohol tax is already up for third reading next week.

“I’m eternally grateful for my colleagues, lalong-lalo na kina House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano at Committee on Ways and Means Chairman Rep. Joey Salceda, for working really hard towards the swift enactment of the priority tax measures of our administration,” Romualdez said. “Makakaasa kayo sa aking suporta at patuloy na malasakit!”
