Mandaue appeals for Alert Level 1 classification
Mandaue City has asked the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to rectify the data of the city’s vaccination rate of senior citizens so it can ease to Alert Level 1 status.
The city earlier sent a letter of clarification to the IATF regarding the rate of vaccination among its senior population.
City Health Officer Dr. Dominga Obenza said they anticipated being placed under Alert Level 1 as they already reached the target vaccination rate for seniors which is among the criteria of the task force in downgrading a local government unit to Alert Level 1. (https://bit.ly/3KNZtvV)
The city has already vaccinated about 90 percent of the total population of senior citizens, as well as low hospital bed utilization rate and a few active Covid-19 cases, added Obenza.
In Cebu, only Cebu City was placed under Alert Level 1 from March 16 to March 31.
