Magpale not worried with Sara Duterte’s endorsement of rival bet
Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale said she does not mind that presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is also endorsing her opponent in this year’s gubernatorial race.
This, after Duterte-Carpio raised the hand of Rep. Gwendolyn Garcia (3rd district) during the campaign caravan of Hugpong ng Pagbabago in Liloan town.
“The endorsement Mayor Inday Sara gave early on to my candidacy was freely given and I don’t believe the hand raising today will stifle my campaign. I am still grateful for the support,” Magpale said in The Freeman report.
According to her, a political party endorsing candidates of opposing parties running for the same position is common in other provinces.
“I believe that a clean track record without any scandal, graft and corruption, controversies, as well as Ombudsman convictions or ongoing Sandiganbayan cases, will win the hearts and minds of the Cebuano voters. We have a very discriminating electorate here in Cebu. The team continues to remain strong and determined,” she said.
