Lumaban eh! Police ops kill Iloilo politiko’s suspected killer
A suspect in the murder of former Pulupandan Mayor Luis Mondia was gunned down in an encounter with police in Dingle town in Iloilo on Wednesday.
Rammy Enojo, Iloilo province’s sixth most wanted person, was fatally shot after allegedly resisting arrest at Barangay Tambunak at 5:30 a.m.
Enojo was one of the suspects in the killing of Mondia in 2010 (https://thedailyguardian.net/local-news/suspect-in-negocc-mayors-slay-killed-in-police-operation/).
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Special Operations Group (IPPO-PSOG) and Dingle Police Station served the arrest warrant on Enojo.
PSOG head Police Maj. Jonathan Pinuela said the Enojo was already up and was feeding his chickens when the police entered his property.
“When he saw us, he ran to the back portion of their house,” Pinuela said, but added police had already cordoned off the area, prompting Enojo to fire at them.
Recovered from Enojo’s house were a hand grenade, a cal-.38 revolver, and a 12-gauge shotgun.
