Lolypop distributes aid to flood victims
Cebu Representative Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon (6th District) distributed cash assistance to 4,483 families who were victims of the flash floods when the Butuanon River in Mandaue City swelled last week due to heavy rainfall.
The cash assistance amounting to P2.9 million was taken from the fund for Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation.
Ouano-Dizon in a statement said the assistance was based on the validated list from the City Social Welfare Office of the eight barangays affected by the flood. (https://bit.ly/2FXkyIr)
These include Barangays Canduman (61 families), Casuntingan (149 families), Maguikay (63 families), Tabok (184 families), Tingub (72 families), Alang-alang (99 families), Umapad (312 families), and Paknaan (3,553 families).
Those whose homes were totally damaged received P5,000 each; P2,500 each for homes that were partially damaged; and P500 each for those houses that were slightly affected.
The lady politiko thanked House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco for contributing 1,000 sacks of rice, while Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano provided the food packs for the flood victims.
