Leonardia says Senate will be ‘in good hands’ under Tito Sotto’s watch

This politiko is vouching for this TV icon’s leadership. Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia of Bacolod City pledged full support and confidence on Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III after he was named as the new Senate President.

Sotto was chosen by senators as their new leader after they voted out Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.

“Sotto is apparently enjoying the trust and confidence of majority of the senators. With this development, we are positive that the Senate will be in good hands” Leonardia said in a statement.

“The turnover of the Senate Presidency between two gentleman-politicians is a classic display of statesmanship which we hope other leaders will emulate.”

Leonardia had pretty close ties with the veteran noontime show host turned legislator, as Sotto had endorsed the Grupo Progreso slate during the May 2016 elections.

Sotto is also Leonardia’s kumpare as he agreed to be ninong to his daughter Loren Kara.
