Leonardia receives honorary doctorates from Royal Institution Singapore
Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia was conferred the title of Doctor Fellow of the Royal Institution of Singapore during its 29th International Conference and Conferment Ceremony at L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod Monday.
Leonardia, also the national president of the League of Cities of the Philippines, also received two more titles from the organization: Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institution of Singapore, and Doctor Fellow of Royal Institute of Public Administrators of Singapore.
The honorary titles were conferred on the city mayor by founding chairman FDr. Prof. Dr. ATS Ang and chancellor FDr. Prof. Dr. Samuel Salvador.
Other notable Filipinos previously honored are former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, former chief justice Hilario Davide, Senator Richard Gordon, former Manila mayor Alfredo Lim, former senator Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr., Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, and urban planner Architect Felino Palafox Jr. (https://bit.ly/37fIaAu)
With Leonardia as the top honoree, a total of 45 professionals who are educators, architects, public administrators, accountants, engineers, doctors, dentists, physical and occupational therapists, ICT experts, and lawyers from various provinces and cities around the country were also conferred Doctor Fellows, Senior Fellows, Fellows, Senior Members, and Members at the same ceremony.
“This award will be a source of inspiration for me. It will be our standard now, and we hope that we will be guided with this henceforth. What makes it gratifying is having known many of you already — it is so flattering to be among you. I am so happy that I am now part of this institution,” Leonardia said in his acceptance speech.
Leonardia was conferred the title “Doctor Fellow” in recognition of his “meritorious professional experience and academic achievements.”
He also received the title “Honorary Fellow” due to his “exemplary achievements, distinguished expertise, remarkable services, and contributions to society as a Brilliant Lawyer, Outstanding Legislator, Illustrious Public Administrator, and Transformational Leader.”
The city mayor was likewise conferred the title “Doctor Fellow of Royal Institute of Public Administrators” of Singapore for “having successfully fulfilled the requirements for membership” and in recognition of his “meritorious professional experiences and academic achievements.”
