Leonardia reappeals quarantine status
Mayor Evelio Leonardia continues to appeal for the de-escalation of the quarantine status of Bacolod City from general community quarantine (GCQ) to modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
“We are still fighting for it,” according to Leonardia.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier retained GCQ in Bacolod until November 30. (https://bit.ly/35QzhxY)
Leonardia said he again sent a letter to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases to allow the city to slide from GCQ to MGCQ.
Even IATF Visayas chief implementer Melquiades Feliciano has recommended to Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año that Bacolod be placed under MGCQ, the mayor also said.
“We eagerly wait for the final decision of the IATF soon,” he added.
