Leonardia eyeing more relaxed quarantine in Bacolod
Mayor Evelio Leonardia asked the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases to de-escalate the community quarantine status of Bacolod City from general community quarantine (GCQ) to modified GCQ (MGCQ).
Leonardia cited the city’s interventions under a centralized system of the Emergency Operations Center, which resulted to the decline in coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Bacolod these past two weeks.
Bacolod was earlier placed under modified ECQ from September 8 to 30, which suspended all forms of public transportation and shut down majority of businesses. (https://bit.ly/37fDDkv)
Under GCQ and MGCQ, all residents are required to observe minimum public health standards at all times. In MGCQ areas, all persons, regardless of age and health status, are allowed outside their residence.
Physical reporting for work in government offices in MGCQ areas may also be at full capacity with alternative arrangements for those 60 and above, those with immunodeficiency, comorbidities, or other health risks, and pregnant women.
As of Thursday, Bacolod has 521 active cases, 3,854 recoveries, and 116 deaths.
