Leonardia allows vendors to sell at public plaza
Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued an executive order (EO) allowing vendors to sell their goods at the Bacolod Public Plaza until January 6, 2020.
The EO also creates a committee, to be led by Councilor Renecito Novero as chairperson and Councilor Ana Marie Palermo as vice chairperson, for this activity.
Novero said “Paskwa sa Plaza” aims to bring good tidings to people, especially the poor, and is also a legitimate avenue for vendors to do business. (https://bit.ly/343CcQF)
Vendors, however, are subject to restrictions, he added.
Fruit vendors should be located on Luzuriaga Street of the public plaza while those who sell ready-to-wear-goods and food should position themselves on Gatuslao Street and San Juan Street, respectively.
Novero also said vendors must secure a business permit from city hall and must install Christmas lights in their respective stalls.
