Lapu ties up with private hospitals for vaccine storage

The city government of Lapu-Lapu will tie-up with private hospitals once the city receives its supply of vaccines from the national government.

Mayor Junard Chan said that he already discussed this plan with private hospitals in the city.

The city is also prepared to procure additional ice-lined refrigerators when the need arises, added Chan. (

Mae Cheryll Tepait, the National Immunization Program nurse coordinator of the Lapu-Lapu City Health Department, previously revealed that their office can only store vaccines having a temperature requirement of +2 to +8 degrees Celcius with their six units of ice-lined refrigerators.

They also have one unit of a freezer that can store vaccines having temperature requirements of -15 to -25 degrees Celcius, she added.
