Lapu mayor hopeful for Alert Level 1 this week
Mayor Ahong Chan expressed hope that Lapu-Lapu City would shift to Alert Level 1 this week.
The city is currently under Alert Level 2.
Chan earlier reported to the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases that the city has inoculated 73 percent of its elderly population. (https://bit.ly/3umw05w)
The high percentage of senior citizens vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine is one of the requirements for a local government unit to be downgraded to the lowest alert level category.
At present, the overall percentage of their vaccination drive is already at 94 percent, the mayor said.
Chan said that he’s confident that they will ease to Alert Level 1 within the week since more senior citizens were inoculated over the weekend.
