Lacson wants lockdown of LGUs with high Covid-19 cases
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is planning to put local government units (LGUs) with high number of active Covid-19 cases under lockdown.
Lacson said he will be consulting local chief executives on the possible lockdown enforcement.
During last year’s lockdown, financial assistance was provided by the national government and was distributed by LGUs among their constituents, he said. (https://bit.ly/3utI9Vb)
According to the governor, they would make sure that some matters like the financial capability of LGUs if ever a lockdown is imposed are resolved.
A total of 11 LGUs in the province had active triple digit Covid-19 cases as of Wednesday.
