Lacson urges Negros LGUs to boost vax efforts
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has directed all local government units in Negros Occidental to increase their efforts in the Covid-19 vaccination campaign.
Lacson admitted that the vaccination results in Negros Occidental are “nothing to be proud of,” noting that the province is falling short of the DOH target.
Hopefully, we can do better, the governor said, while also recognizing the efforts of various LGUs in the campaign.
DOH is promoting a stronger booster vaccination campaign dubbed “PinasLakas” across the country, with the goal of increasing the number of Filipinos who have received a booster shot in order to help maintain the country’s wall of immunity. (https://bit.ly/3EdQZON)
The PinasLakas campaign recommends that 90 percent of senior citizens and 50 percent of the general population receive booster shots.
DOH records showed that as of September 22, 60.73 percent of senior citizens and 78.07 percent of the general population in Negros Occidental had been vaccinated.
“To address this concern, we need to step up and strengthen our vaccination efforts,” said Lacson.
