Lacson imposes travel curbs on NegOr
Negros Occidental’s Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson issued Executive Order No. (EO) 21-30, enforcing strict border controls with its twin province Negros Oriental.
EO 21-30 prohibits all non-essential travel of persons originating from Negros Oriental into the province from June 15 until June 30.
The previous EOs regulating the entry of Mabinay, Negros Oriental residents into Kabankalan City, entry of Basay residents into Hinoba-an town and the entry of Canlaon City and Vallehermoso residents into San Carlos City will remain in full force and effect, the latest directive stated. The EO also suspended the operations of all beaches, resorts and water parks in the province from June 23 to 25 coinciding with the celebration of the feast of St. John the Baptist.
The closure aims to prevent mass gatherings, said Lacson.
As of June 14, Negros Occidental logged 152 new Covid-19 cases, bringing its total infections to 2,379.
