Labella, Osmeña now fighting over Cebu garbage

Why are they spending so much on trash?

May 13 is just two weeks away, and the election season is definitely heating up in Cebu City.

In their latest exchange, Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella found a new ammunition against incumbent Mayor Tommy Osmeña — this time over what appears to be bloated garbage collection expenses run by city hall.

He revealed that the city is spending a whopping P590.5 million for waste collection this 2019. But it’s bound to be higher like in previous years, where garbage costs always shot past the budget.

Labella said Osmeña has never explained this, saying that he must be hiding something.

How will Osmeña respond?
