Labella open to using Sinovac among Cebuanos

Edgar Labella is also willing to get himself vaccinated first using Sinovac if the Food and Drug Administration approves it for use.

The Cebu City mayor is looking to perk up public confidence on COVID-19 vaccines, as he anticipates the receipt of both China-made Sinovac and US-made Pfizer later this year.

“For as long as the vaccine is approved by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration, I think there is no problem,” the politiko said. “If only to show my fellow Cebuanos the effectiveness of the readily available vaccine, particularly the Sinovac, I am willing to get myself inoculated first.”

However, he did say that vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. assured that the city is “one of the three places in the Philippines that can avail of the Pfizer vaccine” come June-July.
