Labella hires Barandog as peace adviser
Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella has appointed former Cebu City Mobile Force Company (CCMFC) commander Police Major Chuck Barandog as peace adviser.
“He has a track record, especially when it comes to the fight against illegal drugs. Because we have to be relentless when it comes to the fight against illegal drugs,” said Labella.
The mayor was recently designated by President Rodrigo Duterte to lead the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) in Central Visayas. (https://bit.ly/36LOcc8)
“Being the regional (head), when I was appointed by the President to head the regional peace and order council, I have to look at other areas of jurisdiction, and part of this is Negros Oriental,” according to him.
Labella cited prevalent perception of insurgence in Negros Oriental in Barandog’s appointment.
