Labella finds silver lining for Cebu City shutdown
Plants dotting Cebu City’s roads have blossomed thanks to the quieter and cleaner air during lockdown.
Mayor Edgar Labella had a new nickname for the Queen City of the South for this beautiful view along the busy streets in town. He’s dubbing their areas “Bougainvillea City,” thanks to the colorful flowers that have sprouted in shrubs and greeneries around town. Too bad most people can’t see them up close yet as the city remains under strict quarantine.
The politiko also drew inspiration from the cartoon film Mulan: “The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.” May Cebu City blossom beautifully after the pandemic too.
