Jovie Espenido blames politicos for drug list inclusion
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jovie Espenido is blaming politicians for his inclusion in the recent narco-list that also implicated more than 300 police officers in the illegal drug trade.
He issued this remark during a press briefing at Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Wednesday when he dropped by to get his personal belongings before heading to Police Regional Office-6 in Iloilo City.
Espenido claimed that he was included in the list because he had previously linked some government officials and law enforcers to the narcotics trade. (https://bit.ly/2uddmSG)
Meanwhile, the cop who led the bloody operation against the Parojinog drug syndicate in Ozamiz City refused to answer if his inclusion might be related to his assignment in Bacolod as the list came out after his assignment in the city.
“Hindi ako makapagsabi. Ang Panginoon lang talaga ang may alam. Kasi nakasanayan ko na hindi ko puwede unahan ang totoo. Pero kung sa totoo lang, ba’t ko naman idedeny kung totoo iyon? Ba’t ko itatago,” according to him.
Last February 5, Espenido was relieved from BCPO as deputy city director for operations and head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit and was detailed to PRO-Western Visayas while undergoing an adjudication process.
