Jerry Treñas shutting down Iloilo City’s borders starting July 22


Say goodbye to crossing over from one city to another for now.

Mayor Jerry Treñas is taking an extra step to control COVID-19 infections in Iloilo City, which saw a spike in recent days. His swift decision was to shut down their borders to travelers to stop further contamination in the Panay Island group.

Starting Wednesday, travelers from Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, and Negros Oriental will be banned. “Movement of essential goods and cargoes will remain unhampered,” the politiko promised.
