Jerry Treñas quick to explain absence from city hall
He’s been feeling under the weather, but the politiko is sure it’s not COVID-19.
Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas announced that he is taking a sick leave of sorts from all his work for a few days, saying the stress and rigor of all his coronavirus response work has caught up with him.
“I felt my chronic sinusitis working up since last week but I continued to go to work. Today, I have a hoarse throat, body aches and I’m feeling feverish at times. But I am attending to all the needs of the city from home,” the politiko said, quick to clarify it’s not the dreaded virus causing him discomfort.
His plea: “Please continue to ensure that we follow all the minimum health standards and give our cooperation to our compliance officers.”
