Jerry Treñas hands out relief goods to Iloilo’s Aeta community
Jerry Treñas found the perfect time to integrate this local tribe to mainstream society during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Iloilo City mayor knew these Aetas in Jaro would need as much help as others do, given that they too can be vulnerable to the disease. The tribe of 25 families were also required to stay indoors this apartment complex, where food and help has been provided.
“We gave them 8 sacks of rice, 3 boxes of sardines, 2 boxes of meat loaf, 6 boxes of noodles, and 8 boxes of corned beef,” the politiko said. We are proud and happy with that. Because we helped them, they will soon learn to live a life with the culture of helping. Let kindness and success pass on.”
