Jerry Treñas allows seniors to return to Iloilo malls again


Three months without shopping has been too much for Iloilo City’s lolos and lolas.

Mayor Jerry Treñas is now giving Ilonggo senior citizens their right to stroll and head out to malls after months of being on home lockdown, just as the local coronavirus situation has improved.

“I talked to the owners of banks and malls in Iloilo City and tackled the complaints of our senior citizens. We have decided and agreed that starting today, our senior citizens will be allowed to enter malls and banks for essential purposes, but they must follow the protocols such as wearing of face masks and strictly follow health guidelines,” the politiko announced.
