Jam-jam Baronda opposes gender segregation proposal

Iloilo City Rep. Julienne “Jam-jam” Baronda is against the proposal requiring separate classrooms for boys and girls.

One’s gender cannot dictate the potential of an individual, said Baronda.

The National Youth Commission chairman Ryan Enriquez earlier proposed the separation of class sections for female and male students in Grades 7 to 12 to prevent teen pregnancy and HIV cases.

The lady politiko said being exposed to all the structures of the community is critical in molding the children. (
