Iloilo provincial government to plant 7,500 tree seedlings in Janiuay town
In celebration of the Philippine Environment Month, the Iloilo Provincial Government will hold a tree planting activity in Barangay Pangilihan, Janiuay town on June 22.
Atty. Arturo Cangrejo, chief of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, said they will plant out 7,500 seedlings of forest trees and fruit-bearing trees like narra, cacao, jackfruit, black plum, and mahogany.
More than 1,000 volunteers from both the public and the private sector are expected to participate in the provincial government-led activity, said Cangrejo.
Participants will assemble at the Ceres bus compound in Barangay Dungon B, Jaro district and leave for Janiuay at 6:30 a.m.
The tree planting will start at 8 a.m.
