The enhanced Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP) of Iloilo City has been approved by the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Mayor Jerry Treñas welcomed the approval, saying the LPTRP will make public transport more accessible to everyone.

The DOTr has yet to officially turn over the approved enhanced route plan to the city government.

The original route plan was suspended last year due to the adverse public reactions to the inconveniences it caused.

Following that, modifications to the traffic plan were proposed, subject to approval by the DOTr and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
