Iloilo City bans liquor sales in bars, restos anew
Mayor Jerry Treñas of Iloilo City re-imposed the ban on drinking of alcoholic beverages in bars and restaurants.
Treñas said the ban is in keeping with the guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases.
He also cited the rising number of coronavirus disease cases in other cities in the country. (https://bit.ly/38PkQxe)
“We are merely following the IATF on this. We’ve also seen the rise in cases in Cebu, Baguio, and Davao, which I hear are already requesting to return to [Enhanced Community Quarantine] after reopening their economies, and we don’t want that to happen here,” according to the mayor.
Treñas clarified that while liquor consumption in public places has been prohibited, the sale of liquor is still allowed, but only until 6 p.m.
