Iloilo aims to attract 350,000 tourists in 2019
The Iloilo Provincial Tourism Office (PTO) hopes the province could attract 350,000 tourists this year.
In a Panay News article, PTO chief Gilbert Marin said the 2019 tourist arrival target is achievable.
His office, he added, will distribute tourism promotional materials in hotels, airports, tour operators, and municipalities among others.
“This strategy is very helpful as these materials feature our attractions and destinations,” according to him.
Marin said the current campaign period is also an opportunity to promote the province’s tourism destinations, citing the visits of poll aspirants.
Earlier, the official urged the local government units to create a municipal tourism plan.
“The tourism plan will serve as their ‘bible’, a template on their direction and promotion of the local tourism,” he added.
