House OKs bill declaring Cagnituan Falls as ecotourism site

The House of Representatives has approved on third and final reading a measure declaring Cagnituan Falls in Maasin, Southern Leyte an ecotourism site.
House Bill 9355, authored by Southern Leyte Rep. Roger Mercado was unanimously approved with 206 votes.
Under the measure, Cagnituan Falls will be prioritized by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and other concerned agencies for development.
Within one year from the enactment of the law, the DOT shall coordinate with the Maasin city government to prepare a tourism and development plan including the construction, installation and maintenance of appropriate facilities and infrastructure to enhance tourism in the area.
