House okays creation of Bacolod PRC office
A bill establishing a permanent office of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in Bacolod City has been approved on third and final reading in the House of Representatives.
Once enacted into law, House Bill No. (HBN) 3808 will make it easier for professionals to process their licenses because they no longer have to go to Iloilo City for their PRC transcations.
In a Panay News article, Rep. Greg Gasataya lamented the notorious long lines every time the PRC held satellite registrations at the Bacolod City Government Center.
Citing the measure co-authored by Negros Occidental Rep. Juliet Ferrer (4th District), Gasataya said that a PRC office is needed not only in Bacolod City but by the entire province.
“The PRC Office will cater to the people of Bacolod City and Negros Island,” the politiko added.
Under HBN 3808, the PRC is tasked to implement and enforce policies on the licensing of various occupations and professions under its jurisdiction.
“Considering the vital function of the PRC and the welfare of all professional licensing applicants and holders, it is more than imperative to establish an office of the Commission in Bacolod City,” Gasataya stressed.
