House okays bill increasing bed capacity of Bacolod hospital


The House of Representatives approved on third and final reading a bill increasing the bed capacity of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City.

House Bill No. (HBN) 8835, authored by Rep. Greg Gasataya, seeks to raise the number of hospital beds at CLMMRH from 400 to 1,000.

The measure aims to address the health needs of the people of Bacolod and its neighboring towns.

Once enacted into law, the bill will result in additional facilities, doctors, nurses, buildings, equipment, medicine, as well as additional funds to improve the services of the hospital and serve more patients.

The measure was co-authored by Representatives Leo Rafael Cueva, Jose Sy Alvarado, Alejandro Mirasol, Jocelyn Limkaichong, Mercedes Alvarez, ArnolfoTeves, Melecio Yap Jr., Manuel Sagarbarria, and Juliet Marie Ferrer.

Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito has signified his support for the passage of the bill in the Upper House.
