Heed sanitation rules, Treñas tells public

Amid rising cases of acute gastroenteritis (AGE) and cholera in Iloilo City, Mayor Jerry Treñas urged the residents to adhere to health and sanitation protocols at all times.

This could spare them from diseases brought by contaminated food and water sources, according to Treñas.

The city was placed under a state of calamity last Friday due to continued rise in AGE and cholera cases. (

The city government also asked residents to report any suspected case of AGE as soon as possible, especially if symptoms include stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.
