Hanggang Huwebes na lang: DepEd to shut down NIR office Aug 31
At least 12 casual employees will lose their jobs as the Department of Education shuts down its regional office for Negros Island Region in Dumaguete City on Thursday, August 31.
OIC Regional Director Gilbert Sadsad said this is in compliance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s order abolishing the NIR.
With the move, permanent employees assigned to the NIR office will return to their original posts in Western and Central Visayas.
Sasad said he has been appointed DepEd regional director for Region 4B (MIMAROPA) and concurrent Negros Occidental schools division superintendent.
But he said he requested the DepEd to appoint a full-time Negros Occidental Schools superintendent as MIMAROPA is far from Negros Occidental.
In the meantime, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Gladys Sales will be acting Negros Occidental Schools Division Superintendent when he is in MIMAROPA.
