Gwen requires Negros, Bohol travelers negative Covid-19 test to enter Cebu
Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has issued an executive order (EO) requiring travelers from Negros and Bohol to present a negative RT-PCR test result taken within 72 hours before departure from their place of origin.
Travelers may also show a negative rapid antigen test result taken at least 48 hours from the conduct of the swab test, the EO said.
The new policy will take effect today, June 14 until July 24, unless extended. (https://bit.ly/3pPynuW)
Garcia recently met with the regional directors of the Department of Health, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas.
They agreed that “there is an urgent need to heighten restrictions upon all persons entering the Province of Cebu who originate from the Province of Bohol and the Province of Negros Oriental,” including Negros Occidental, which is adjacent to Negros Oriental.
Data from the DOH showed that active Covid-19 cases in Negros Oriental stood at 2,528 while Bohol had 1,095 active cases.
